[Alright, so the Bloody Pirate has flown off, two of you are still in fighters, and there's still two ships ahead of you in line. An armored rectangular space navy ship and a giant space tree.] [Currently not in init.] [Start] * Neisis still has the channel to the !Jurai open and the space navy on hold, for she IS the operator! * Thalan is flying, and stuff! No shooting ships that haven't shot, as much as I want to.. * Justine flies 'Trap back over to the group's main ship, as yet not formally named, but does not reconnect. Instead, she flies escort. * Murynal tags along as escort, too. She doesn't seem willing to dock just yet. * Fancy-tree-guy, content that he's said hi politely, doesn't have anything to add at the moment. (Since the log's not posted, can someone remind me what we're waiting for?) (You aren't. There's a small dock you can use to get in, but the two ships are discouraging line hoping.) * Neisis sighs and leans back in her chair, "Greetings to you too...How long have you been waiting?" * Tree-guy. "About two and a half days. There's been some turnover, but the groups presently inside seem insistent on seeing the present crisis through." * Neisis looks blank for a long moment. (What was the crisis?) (You don't know) ...I...see. Thankyou...Do you know how we might get in contact with the group inside? As strange as it might seem we'd rather be somewhere else right now, and would like to make a real dilvery. Not that you haven't heard that used as an exuse before. [A new button for hailing the station pops up on Neisis's controls.] We've talked to them some, but they don't seem to have any high level functionaries available by comm. Ah...I wonder if the parts we have are what they need? If it would get them out faster, would you allow us to dock with the station long enough to make the delivery? * Tree guy looks thoughtful. "If they verify your credentials, then yes." (See, this is why Neisis should be captain.) Good ... I think. I'll call you back when I find out. * Tree guy nods. "Thank you for that courtesy." Then both communication screen images freeze. They seem to be talking amongst themselves. * Neisis slowly reaches over and puts the Jurai on hold. [Done[ * Justine switches on her ship's radio to contact the rest of the group. 'What's the plan?' * Neisis closes her eyes and takes two deep breathes, "I want to kill something, but that won't help." I say we should fry them all, but that'd be a bad idea. Talk to the people on the station, talk to the people in the tree, talk to the people in the brick, talk to the people in the station again, deliver, leave. 's what it sounded like. 'Got it.' * Murynal nods and says, over the radio, "Understood." Denal? Add a punching bag or something to our shopping list. Will do. 'Vaporizing asteroids can work wonders.' I'll keep that in mind. * Neisis cracks her knuckles, "Did that once, it's not the same." And something easily replacable. Many somethings replacable. Duly noted. And now we talk to the other people. 'Can you let me and Murynal hear?' As soon as I find the button for that. * Neisis searches for the buttons with pictures of the fighters. * Denal doesn't know what Neisis is doing, so there's just a picture of the station (which looks like one of those touristy half snow globes), and the big ships. * Neisis grumbles a bit more and then hits the button shaped like the station and forces a grin. (If only that button hadn't been connected to the main guns! Or the icemaker!) (You hear ice.) (Lots of ice.) (Woo! inanimte objects to destroy!) [A third screen comes up. This first a Fantasy Park logo, and then an nervous looking person in a uniform with a photo ID badge that says my name is "Migaaaah!"] * Intern flatly. "Welcome to fantastic park, the most exciting place in the quandrant, how may I help you?" * Thalan gets the feed to one of his screens. "..." (did we ever find out what the name of the last station was?) (The SPACE DONUT.) Hi, we've got a shipment of replacement parts from The Space Donut that you might be interested in. * Intern flatly. "Do you have the shipping invoice?" (yes, you do) Of course. (Oh, and visual awareness checks, anyone who wants one.) (HA count?) (failed!) (Nope.) (by one, but still a failure) (Oh hell yes. By 7.) [Anyone who can see the screen that made the check notice that in the distance a three foot tall or so tortoise looking creature with a shell covered with blinking lights and diodes seems to be slowly approaching the intern.] (It's Mind? I made by 7.) (Looks to be at least 5 meters away, might take a minute to reach him) Transmit it over please. (And I can't see the screen. So I didn't even need to roll. Dammit.) (Err, 6. Whatever. I made it by lots. :P) Denal! Could you send our invoice? (The screens can be rebroadcast to your fighters.) Check. * Intern looks it over slowly with a jaundiced eye, the tortoise creature keeps approaching. (Oh. But I thought Neisis never found the button to do that.) * Thalan sends the screen to the fighters. "Guys might want to see this." (Easy to see if you know what to look for) (I didn't, but Thalan just fixed that) (Thalan didn't tell you what to look for. :P) (So.. if you made the check, you see it. ^_~) * Murynal eyes that. "And?" (Thalan apparently has Starfleet training.) Turtle-boy. * Murynal blinks. "I don't see a- oh." 'Uh... Warn him?' Justine suggests tentatively. Neisis, that's your job. Probably'd be a good idea. [Still about 4 meters away, pretty slow.] Hmm? About wha...Oh....That's just.... This doesn't have? Oh.. it does. Hmm... * He pokes at a few buttons. Excuse me sir? You might want to look behind yourself. * Intern looks back and then goes "Gaaaaah!" and runs away. [Turtle keeps coming towards you.] (Well, the camera) (Like 3.5 meters) ...I should have waited until after he got finished... And he could be dead? Let's just go in. 'Sorry,' Justine mumbles. (That'll show her to try to suggest a course of action!) Nah, he's not gonna get his sorry ass pasted by the turtle then. So, what now? Still have two ships on the outside to deal with... [Turtle slowly progresses to chase after the guy. It'll be about two minutes until he passes.] * Neisis closes the link, and then tries to open it again, with any luck they've got more than one person answering. [Same area. Tortoise keeps walking towards you. Meanwhile the intern rounds the far corner and keeps running, now towards the tourtise. He goes. "Gaaaaaah!" And turns around and runs the other way.] [The tourtise begins the slow process of turning around.] ... * Murynal sighs. ...If there was some way for me to get to that damn turtle without having to deal with the other two ships. Hey, Denal, this thing doesn't have teleporters, does it? Teleporters? Those exist? 'You believe in magic but not teleporters?' As a spell I don't know. ... Yeah? No. We could try to locate the turtle in the facility and fire on it. Perhaps the official is from a race that can stand the vaccuum. ... Perhaps not. * Neisis grits her teath. 'Uh... Denal? What was that turtle thing?' Probably a genetically engineered species, don't have the specific data on it, but I'm betting its name is a terrible pun or insult. You mean like Genbu? (Can I make a Biological Sciences (Genetic Engineering) roll for more info?) [You can hear the intern running back from the hallway he originally ran down.] * Neisis sits back up. (Well. Sure. +4) I don't know that term. (Made by 1.) Or maybe Technically Not Mallable Turqouise? (Aka, tnmt.) 'Turquoise? It looks green to me...' (Oh, com'on. I just made a pun on the acrynom for TNMT, or teenage mutant ninja turtles. :P) No. Oh, I've found a reference in my files. Apparently this one is called an Aol. No explaination. (I know. But Justine doesn't, and you said it IC.) (True. ^^;) * Neisis grins and waits for the intern to get closer. [Intern appears, looks like he's about to turn again.] (Greg? Made by Biological Science (Genetic Engineering) roll by 1. Justine figure out anything?) (Sure, it was probably designed off a creature on a medium gravity planet and designed to run off of bioelectricity. Modified to be predatory, but you'd have to be rather stupid to actually let it reach you.] (Maybe he could do a little bit more of the work we need each time he runs by?) * Neisis calls out, "Hey wait a bit! If you send our invoice to the other ships we can help you!" Promise? * Neisis grins, "Yes!" * Intern starts typing at the controls desperately fast. The tortoise starts turn back slowly. Feel the tension! * Murynal might feel the tension, but she sure doesn't look like she cares. * Thalan doesn't look like he cares, really. He's just bored. [And you recieve the transmission and the intern runs off again, with only minutes to spare.] (Minutes.) (God that thing's slow.) 'Why would anyone design a predator that slow? What's the point?' Natural selection. 'I don't follow.' They probably thought it was funny. Have the certification. * Thalan shrugs. "By introducing a variable, such as a slow predator, those who cannot get away will be taken out of the gene pool and not reproduce. Or it could just be funny." Or just impossible to hurt. And now... 'This universe is very strange.' Ready guys? Show time. Yep, just gotta make sure they'll get out of our way. 'Ready. Just tell me what you need.' * Neisis opens the channel to the Jurai agian, "Hello again!" Greetings. Did you just get a transmission from the station about us actualy having a delivery to make? * Tree nods. "We'll allow you to pass." Thankyou! * Neisis closes their channel and opens the one to the space bri...er navy, "Sorry to keep you waiting so long, hope you enjoyed the show." We did, thank you. We didn't feel it worth our energy to dispatch him. Wow, lovely. And as you are geniune, we will allow you to pass. * Neisis gives a mock salute, "Thanks!" * Neisis closes that channel too and sits back with a grin on her face. * Murynal says, over their private comms, "Not worth their energy, hmm?" Were they worth your going out there? * Justine finally docks her fighter with the main ship. * Navy nods back and closes the channel. [And you get in the docking bay without any trouble. Doors close behind you.] [There's a big door to the interior with a sign that says "Welcome to fantastic park." There's some soundtrack-y type music playing in the background, and also labels to help you remember where you parked.] [You're on in the "Maiming" lot apparently.] * Neisis checks the line to the intern, to see if he's back yet. [He's been cycling. Still alive apparently.] (is he within range now is the question) * Murynal has gotten around to docking and entering the main ship, we'll hope. (Sure, won't make you wait) * Justine, similarly, made it back into the main ship and into her chair. * Neisis calls out to him again, "Good news is that we're in. Now, how do we get to where you are?" * Justine's grabbed her blaster pistol from where she'd left it on her ship and slipped it into a holster built into her chair. I'm on the other side of the jungles of death. * Thalan slings a plasma rifle over his shoulder. "Interesting name." ...Of course, and there's no way AROUND the Jungles of death are there? I actually always found it rather bland.. Gaaaaah! ::starts running again as turtle comes slowly. Just through the deserts of dooom and the post-apocalyptic proving grounds. (I think there really are three Os in the Deserts of Dooom. It's not a typo. Say it! Dooom.) (o/~ DOOOM!) (HA. DOOOM!) Then we'll see you when we get there. Yeah. Make sure to stay away from the katchup. [Intern is too far off screen to hear you.] (Greg, I need the gravity level in the station.) Hey Murynal! Do you want to come in and break expendable things or wait out there? (1.0) * Thalan gets up. "I'm all for breaking stuff myself." [A screen by the big gate lights up. "Please deliver parts to engineering in the core section. Admission covered due to nature of the mission."] ("But You Still Have To Pay At The Snack Bar.") Duh, of course. I'm going in. * Murynal is on her feet and stretching. Parts! Killing things! Fuel! [Oh, there's also a sign by the main gate the the park is handicapped, slug, and robot accessable.] 'That's thoughtful.' Amusing. Let's get the parts and get this over with. * Justine pushes the button to open the door and lower the ramp. * Murynal heads out after Justine! * Thalan goes after Murynal! * Neisis is the last one out! * Justine boldly leads the way into the Parking Lot Of Possible Sudden Death And Reasonable Hourly Rates. (How big are the parts, Greg?) [The crate actually contains a backpackers type bag for toting them around.] * Thalan takes it then! Oooh, backpack. [The gates slowly open. You think they're moving slow for drama purposes more than mechanical necessity. * Neisis paces while she waits for the gates to open, "c'mon." Session Time: Wed Jun 16 00:00:00 2004 * Murynal taps her foot. * Thalan taps his foot impatiently. * Justine starts to hum. [And slowly revealed behind the gate is a fairly vast mini world. You can see a jungle to your left, a desert ahead of you, and a firey/lava/mountain area to your left.] * Murynal points at the desert. "That wouldn't be the Desert of Dooom, would it?" I think it would... but the Jungle of Death is a shorter rout. Jungle I say. Jungle. [Oh and the lava area is called. "Vulcano land" Apparently volcanos are thought to be sufficiently intimidating in and of themselves.] [You can also see and hear birds and other beasts of the air swooping around above you.] (No Vorpal Volcanos?) * Murynal nods. "Agreed, so long as it won't cause trouble for Justine." * Murynal doesn't seem to particularly mind. [There are clear walking paths leading through all the areas, protected by forcefields.] 'The sign said the place was handicap accessible, so there will probably be a way through I can use.' [Also a good number of auto turrets, just in case the forcefields break down.] [And lots of areas to hide in locked down safety while the turrets deal with any problem.] [Not surprisingly the fields are down. The turrets are either off, malfunctioning, or out of ammo, and seems like the safehouses were built by the low-bidder, of the ones you can see. Either the doors are jammed or they seem totally sealed but empty.] (It looks foolproof. Or, y'know, like it will fail because security precautions always break down at these places.) (Ha. Called that.) (Mwehehe.) Jungle it is, then. Of course the place isn't working. I'll start scouting. Have fun, and leave some for the rest of us! * Thalan runs forward and leaps into the trees. ('The robots won't go berzerk for at least twenty four hours. Oh. I forgot to carry the one.' - Prof. Frink.) * Murynal heads in at Justine's pace. Really now. * Justine rolls forward down the path, going at a decent enough clip if it's a level surface. * Thalan is going at a fairly slow pace. Every once in a while you can hear him ruffle the branches above. * Neisis strolls, and grins. 'Not going to soak in the jungle atmosphere?' Justine asks Murynal. You guys don't know how to have fun at all. ^^ * Murynal grins at Justine. "I'm soaking it fine next to you, really." We do, we're just letting you have all of it. I may enjoy the jungle, but I'm not about to leap from tree to tree or whatever Thalan's doing. 'I know how to have fun,' Justine calls. 'It just involves fewer trees and more alcohol.' * Murynal snickers. See? [You can hear some speech up ahead, fairly loud and jovial, as well as the occassional sound of automatic weapon fire.] 'Some cute guys wouldn't hurt, for that matter,' Justine adds. That might be them up ahead. 'On the other hand, automatic weapon fire is not high on my fun list.' * Thalan turns on his personal communicator. Do you guys have them yet? (Nope.) (Baaah.) You're not going to believe this. It's space marines battling... unicorn monkies. (Nope!) (But the wheelchair's got a radio built in.) * Murynal grabs her bladeless hilt, turning it around in her hand. "Mine neither." * Justine asks the only question that one really can when told that. 'Who's winning?' * Neisis shakes her head, "Yay them." The marines, easily. 'Aw. Poor unicorn monkies.' * Murynal blinks. "Unicorn monkies?" [You're still far enough away to not really hear much beyond the weapons fire.] (Murynal should be able to hear Thalan over Justine's chair's radio.) (Right!) Don't ask. * Thalan keeps moving forward. * Justine reaches down and pulls out her blaster pistol. Her arm trembles ever so slightly at the weight, but she is quite capable of lifting and aiming it. * Neisis has yet to pull a weapon, and is starting to look bored again. * Justine keeps moving forward. * Neisis walks onward, the marines don't need her help. * Murynal walks, yes. She's good at it! * Justine doesn't walk. She's not so good at it. [As you get closer you can hear some of the chatter. "Take that monkeys!" "Throw crap at us and we'll give you hell!" "Wait? What are you guys seeing?"] [Even closer you can actually see the fight going on. A troop of about half a dozen, swinging around the trees and throwing stuff down at the marines.] ...Perhaps we should let them know that Thalan isn't one of their targets. [The marines are in heavy battle amour, shooting back. There's actually one with a dead monkey, horn well into the armor.] * Thalan goes about being scarce. (Stealth roll, Thalan) (Made it by 8.) (be right back.) [None of the four marines seem to notice Thalan.] * Thalan 's movements in the trees silence and lessen as he practically becomes non-existant. [Oh, and from what you can see of them from through the clear demi-spheres at the top of their armour you can see one of them's fairly handsome, two ordinary, one less than ordinary. Look fairly human.] * Justine looks from Neisis to Murynal and back again. What do you mean what are they? Unicorn monkeys you twit. See? You got you wish. Still don't seem them. [Few more derisive comments, some quite rude.] Oh, right, unicorns. Have to be a virgin to see those, right? * Murynal snorts faintly. "Well, no helping it." She keeps heading to the battlefield, maybe-weapon in hand. * Justine looks around hopefully for a bottle of booze too. [Justine does not see one.] (She wasn't going to drink it NOW.) * Neisis stretches and heads after Mury. [Unicorn monkeys run off, a bit outgunned.] * Justine speeds up her chair a bit to try to catch up. * Thalan scouts and shadows our group. [Marines stop and check over their equipment. Ugly glances over to see you.] "Company." Don't mind us, we're just making a delivery run, hopefully to get the walls working again. Damn, what's the fun in that? * Neisis grins, "You want us to attack you?" * Murynal keeps walking through, calm as can be. "There isn't any 'fun' in it." * Justine follows Murynal. That a challenge? Might be, hard to say. Ah, they're just doing a job, don't harrass 'em. You're no fun Jim. I'll take that as a no. See you on the way out. * Murynal smirks faintly. "Have fun with the monkeys." * Handsome waves. "I'll look forward to it." If you want a fight, I'm always happy to oblige a lady. 'Well, looks like some things are the same in this universe...' * Neisis grins, "I've got a gaint turtle to kill, sorry." I'll say. (Out of idle curiosity, what's everyone's Appearance level in our party? Justine has 1 level.) * Ord 2 laughs. "We're going looking for a real challenge, but if you want a fight on the way out, please find us." (1) [Handsome guy is pretty handsome, level 2/3 ish. More 2 as space marine garb isn't all that flattering.] (Zero, and unappealing 1. I mean, his actual appearance is probably around 1 or 2 level, but... He's such a jackass. And I mean it. It's an actual defect. ^^;) * Justine calls out, somewhat reprovingly, 'A real challenge would be to go out into the real world and fight some real menaces to help real people.' (He looks average for his race. ^^;) (Mury's got three. She can pump it to four if she wants.) * Ugly snorts. "That's our job, nine units out of ten. Or does your race not take vactions?" 'When we do, we don't spend 'em fighting. That's what makes them vacations.' Well, we don't want to get rusty. And really, this is a safer place to train than the recreation chambers of doom. ::There's nod of agreements, and looks likes some bad memories from the expressions:: 'Well, have fun.' Good luck. * Murynal nods. * Justine, when they are out of earshot, comments, 'They seemed nice enough. I thought everyone here would be trying to kill us for fun.' I guess they were only trying to kill monkeys for fun. [You keep going on the path, hmm, awareness roll Thalan.] (Any sense apply?) * Justine frowns at Murynal's comment. Poor unicorn monkeys! (Favored sense) 2d6-8 (Sight, smell, or hearing. Take your pick. Made by 7.) * Neisis walks onward and leaves the nice bloodthirsty men behind. * Murynal blinks, then looks at Justine. "I'm sorry." [Thalan sees some sort of long cylindrical thing that looks like an upside down V in the trees above. Still a bit ahead of the group.] * Thalan hmmms to himself and reports next to the group, dropping down from the canopy. (I'm gonna make an Awareness Check to see if Justine gets startled.) * Thalan drops down right behind Justine, in fact. "Something's up ahead. Think it's what we're lookin' for: An upsidedown V." (There, you made it. ;P) * Justine is not startled to hear Thalan behind her. (Made it by what? :P) * Murynal isn't either, actually. Or at least she doesn't look it. She turns to him. "Upsidedown V?" (Depends on what Stat. For Body, by 4. For Mind, by 6.) (Thal made his stealthiness by 7, but that's okay. The rest of the group's used to it by now anyways. ^_^) * Neisis fails to jump, but she does turn her head, "The door out?" Well, we might as well look. Or you should anyways. * Thalan starts walking forward on the path, not in the trees, and not being stealthy. * Murynal nods. And she keeps going! * Neisis walks, because she can. [Still a bit of distance to the intern, not too far though.] * Justine rolls along in her chair. [Okay, init everyone.] (I'll keep that) (I think she has an attribute that increases it.) (I took one of ND's uniques to get that) [Neisis, Mury, Thalan, Justine, V] (This isn't real init, all orders are simultaneous. They'll be resolved in init order) [You manage to walk until you're almost under the tree and V if you don't want to do anything first that is.] (Can't think of anything.) (Neisis will wait) (Waiting here too. ^^;) (I'm not even sure what's going on!) [The thing seems to notice your movement, looks a bit like a long snake but with a strange bumpy bottom. As Thalan actually walks under it, the creature drops down. How does everyone react as it falls? (It lost init so you have time)] * Thalan dodges out of the way of course! * Justine calls out, 'Request permission to open fire!' (That's probably her action, 'cause she won't shoot until she gets a response.) * Murynal moves on reflex, a cold, blue blade springing from the hilt she's been holding and slicing at the creature as it falls. (Okay, give me an attack roll Mury, a dodge roll (with full dodge bonuses, Thalan.. And neisis, act. :P) (Um, yeah.) * Neisis moves, nearly in synch with Mury as a her claw appears on her left left arm and she sweeps it up at the falling snake. (Attack roll Neisis!) (Dodginated. :P) [Thalan easily steps out of the way as the creature falls down and is sliced first by Mury, in a move that leaves it's head bleeding, then by Neisis who leaves deep gash marks on it.] [Out of init. It's on the ground and not moving] (There, think that worked well.) (... That was quick.) (it got nailed by a crit) * Thalan brings his plasma rifle down at it, but it's already notmoving. "Well." * Murynal reverses her grip on her sword, and the blade vanishes. She goes back to walking. "Sorry. Acted on reflex." Good reflexes. * Neisis 's claw vanishs, "That's it?" * Justine lowers her gun arm, resting it on one of the chair's armrests. * Thalan slings his rifle over his shoulder. * Thalan starts walking forward again! [The jungle itself is still fairly loud, but creatures largely avoid the path. If you don't look for trouble, you get to the door to "Communications. Authorized Personnel Only" Without any trouble. We'll say it's written in many languages, some end up being similar enough to ones you know. [The door is presently locked, and metal.] [You're at the edge of the biosphere, to be clear. 'So, was that anything like your home worlds?' Justine asks. * Neisis looks around and then shrugs, "Dunno." Nope. * Murynal eyes the door. "So. Any of you want to pick a lock, or do we just break it down?" * Neisis lights her claw again, "This is the only key I've got." * Thalan shrugs. "Hold on a sec." * Thalan flips out his claws and starts to work on the lock on the door with them. (Lockpick check, +6) * Neisis puts hers away...or at least it vanishes from off her arm. (Made it by 3.) [The lock was well designed, apparently made to be damn difficult for even clever creatures to jimmy open.] (Raptors can turn door handles, but not beat this, in other words.) (I still pick it? ^^;) (You beat the +6.) [But Thalan has an amazing, I mean really amazing, level of skill. So he gets it open.] * Thalan finishes picking and opens the door, calmly walking in. "Coming?" (Whoo! I R UBER) Of course! * Neisis walks through the doorway. (awareness checks) * Justine rolls on through. (By 6. ^^) (Made against any stat, but which one?) (mind) (Awareness is defaulted to mind, I think.) (Made by 2, then.) (mind) (so close, and yet so far ;_;) (One!) [Everyone who makes hears the turtle coming from your left. Intern is off running somewhere, can't see him though.] (wait, if that was a hearing check I made it) [ Neisis, Mury, Thalan, Justine, Turtle ] [Back in init. All at once now.] * Justine can't turn on a dime, so instead she goes full reverse, back out into the hall, while asking, again, 'Permission to open fire?' (Does Neisis get the bonus from heightened senses or is she screwed out of her first round advantage?) (She'll get it) * Murynal turns to face the turtle, cold blue blade springing into existence, and she seems to have gotten a hang of this. "Granted." * Thalan brings up his plasma rifle and looses a shot at the Turtle. He backs away from the turtle beforehand if he needs to. * Neisis lights her claw again as she rushes the turtle, and a much simpler weapon appears on her right arm, "Just don't hit me!" (Anyone attacking, make a roll) (Yes and Yes!) (Yup!) * Turtle takes a bite at Neisis as she attacks. [Processing....] (Ha! No, I haven't rushed the turtle... yet.) (Neisis give me an dodge roll against unarmed (bite) (you running off of normal or Arcana rules - is it what I'm defending with or against?) (With) (I'm going with what you're defending with.) (...and I totaly forgot some bonuses, but since it wasn't enough to push the second hit to a crit I won't worry about it) (and I'll be taking my DR...because I can) (Ha ha ha. no.) (So much for that!) [The turtle takes the plasma hit which knocks out some of its diodes and blinking lights and seems to penetrate the shell a bit, however Neisis attacks don't get through at all. However Neisis herself gets bit in return and it bloody well does hurt. The things also not letting go, so Neisis presently has a weapon hand stuck.] [Next round, everybody act] * Thalan takes another shot at turtle. Take turtle! (Which arm?) (Left we'll say) (Damn) * Murynal acts now, running forward to the side opposite Neisis and bringing slashing down at its arm and leg, which are likely less armored than the rest of it. * Neisis swings at the turtles head with a glorified crowbar, "Let GO!" * Justine has backed out into the hall and thus her firing range only contains the doorway and whatever is visible through it, which presumably doesn't include the turtle. So she shoots straight through the door, hits the far wall, and bounces the shot back out of her field of vision and fire to hit the turtle. (Ahh dicy you love me so ;_;) (Hopefully.) (Let's see. Big shell, so +4 targetted penalty on that Mury) (And Justine, make that shot with ricochet rules. You know 'em?) (Made and miss. Yow, those are bad rolls.) (Sorry, what'd I miss?) (Dice hate!) (Sent update) (And yes, the ricochet rules require Steady Hand and Dead Eye, both of which I have. Then it's +2 per surface. In this case, just one surface.) (Made by 1.) [Neisis, apparently thrown off by her armed being grabbed, has a bad angle on the turtle's head and barely manages a glancing blow. Mury and Thalan have a bit more success, both landing a hit. Mury feels that even the legs do seem armored, but her blade easily slices through this weaker sort, leaving a gash. Thalan's shot knocks out yet more diodes. The Aol just keeps biting at Neisis's left hand, which has now officially lost feeling, aside from a vague continuing sense of "OW! Crushed! Not good!"] [Justine's energy pistol shot scorches the surface of the shell after an impressive deflection, but doesn't seem to have all that much effect, unlike the plasma shot.] [Next round!] * Thalan shoots again! Because that's what he does. * Justine tries again, this time, amazingly, bouncing the shot off the far wall and also aiming for a vital spot, where it is unprotected by shell. (Okay, one bounce is +2 and Vital Spot is +1 with Dead Eye.) * Murynal brings her blade back, up, and downwards, trying to just cut the thing's head off without getting Neisis in the process. (Vital shot is through the shell. +4 to shoot around the armour at an extremity. (+4 pre dead eye that is.) (Made by 2.) (Greg, yeah, +4 without Dead Eye, +1 with. I accounted for it.) * Neisis screams and crosses her arms for an instant, with her claw now on her right hand she swipes it at the turtle, "LET GO!" * Aol starts trying to back up while tugging Neisis along. [Processing.] (... Lucky bastard.) (I think it took 5 attacks, though.) (Why does the turtle get all the luv? ;_;) (I'd like to know how it dodges without letting go of Neisis' hand, though. ;P) [The creature takes a hit to the head from Neisis but manages to jerk the poor limb to the side while turning slightly, avoiding the blow from Murynal. However, its speed is rather limited so it takes the hit from Thalan and from Justine and one of its legs gives way.] [It lets go of Neisis, who currently has a rather bloodied and messed up hand and retracts all of its limbs, leaving just the shell, which is now about 45% off and damaged.] [Next round] * Justine fires again, trying to hit a portion not protected by shell. * Intern appears around the corner. "Yay! I'm safe! If you take me with you I can get you security badges." (Actually, is that even a Vital Spot shot, or is it a shot around Armor? There's a lesser penalty for shooting around Armor.) (+8 penalty on that. Limbs quite retracted. This armor is basically complete now.) (Yeeeeah.) * Murynal eyes the shell, not attacking or looking away as she addresses the intern. "Security badges?" (Okay, but it's +8 -3 for Dead Eye.) * Neisis staggers back a few paces, and with her arm hanging by her side and the other pointed straight out she simply glares death at the turtle. (Right) * Thalan draws a bead on the turtle. He responds to the intern without looking away, although his ears twith. "Talk." * Justine wheels into the room, and though she can't turn the chair, she can certainly raise her arm to her side and fire, aiming around the shell. (So no ricochet this time, just +5 for the Shell.) (Damn. Failed.) (Shellbounce!) (Shellshock!) (SHELLSHOCK!) [Neisis claws fairly ineffectually at the shell, knocking out a few more diodes. Justine hits the floor as she aimed low in trying to get in an armor crack. The turtle stays retracted.] You'll need them to get through the secure areas to engineering. I can activate the machine that makes them, but it isn't here. [Next round.] Wonderful. * Thalan finishes aiming and takes a shot at the turtle. (That including the +8 Thalan?) * Murynal turns off her sword, or something, because the blade vanishes. She tucks her hilt away and walks over to Neisis. "Let me see that." (Nope. I just took a normal shot at it.) * Justine tries again, this time focusing so intently on the attack that she is giving no thought at all to defending herself as she carefully aims to shoot around the armor. (Total Attack, -1, on top of the +8-3, so +4.) (Goddammit! Failed.) (Heh.) [Thalan knocks out another chuck of the turtles diodes. Justine misses again.] * Neisis isn't listening to Mury, and instead takes a running leap at the turtle and stabs at it. (total attack, chambara) * Murynal sighs at all of this. "It's not going to attack anymore, you know." [Neisis's blades penetrate the shell, and all of its lights go out.] * Justine turns to glance at Murynal. 'Want me to hold my fire?' At this point, it's dead, so unless you like shooting corpses, yeah. * Thalan slings his rifle. "'course it's not. It's pretty dead." * Justine looks back over at it. 'Oh. Uh, yeah.' Neisis? * Intern looks relieved. "So, can we go?" * Neisis looks at Mury, "What?!" It's dead. There's nothing to be angry at anymore. Let me see your hand. * Neisis yanks her good arm free, and blinks at Mury a few times. * Thalan looks pretty calm. "You have a sickbay?" He says to the intern. It's more of a demand than a question, however. * Murynal holds out her hand, looking at Neisis calmly. Of course. But in the somewhat more secure than others section. We don't need to head there. Weren't you going to get us badges or something? [Neisis's hand, for the record, is badly cut up. Using it will be difficult and will invoke penalties.] * Neisis blinks at Mury's arm and then looks down at her own, and then degenerates into cursing that the translater can't keep up with. Yeah, but we need to get to one of the ::shudder:: photobooths. * Murynal gives up on waiting and just grabs Neisis' injured hand. Hopefully she doesn't get punched for it. * Neisis winces, "Owowow." * Intern kicks the Aol and then hops up and down on one foot. "Ow... shouldn't have done that." * Murynal concentrates, and her hands start glowing that same cold blue her sword did. Neisis's hand starts feeling much better, though the wounds close more slowly than that. "Just relax." 'Is that magic?' Justine asks, fascinated. Looks like magic to me. * Neisis stands still, "I supose that it'd be too much to ask that there's a place around here that'd sell me a Resta disk." No, it's psionics. Which... would be similar to you, I guess. Oh, that's psionics, hmm. * Thalan shrugs. 'Amazing.' "As long as I'm dreaming Shifta and Gifoi would be nice too." 'And I never did get that drink.' * Intern shrugs. "We've got icecream if you want. One of the best perks of the job is pigging out every time the power goes out. Would have quit long ago if it weren't for that." * Murynal snickers. She keeps at it for a few more minutes, then lets Neisis' hand drop, completely healed. Sadly, the soothing feeling drops with it. * Justine is clearly resisting the urge to poke the newly healed hand. (Do it! Do it!) * Neisis holds up her arm and looks at it, "Good work, and thank you." (Nah, she would require permission first.) * Murynal nods. "Sure." She looks over to the intern. "So, badges and ice cream?" * Intern nods and slightly gets the flat voice again. "All part of the exciting danger-tainment experience." Sounds like a good plan, and then we drop that thing off. (The ice cream is going to try to kill us, isn't it?) (Maybe...) Been a while since I've had ice cream. * Murynal grins. "Some things really are universal." 'Or multiversal,' Justine says brightly, as people do when they think they're being really witty but actually aren't. [End!]
