[When last we left our Jumpers, the show had been cancelled by the Fox network, no, that's not right...] [When last we left Jumpers, the party was leaving the mayor's office. The mayor seemed willing to welcome them if they did a job for him: driving off some heavy worlders.] * Nic has joined #jumpers [The heavy worlders hang out in the outer ring by the anti-grav generators.] (Well, that bodes poorly Nic.) * Justine has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer ) (I moved back to crouching on the stairs, which is uncomfortable as anything but my signal is more reliable over here.) * Nic is now known as Justine [The group had not yet decided whether or not to take the job. Their larger objective is to find a local official that will sign their residency permits, once they steal said permits that is.] [Start] * Syzix is now known as Thalan -> *nickserv* set #jumpers +vvvv Justine Neisis Roseli Thalan (Also, Thalan is no longer cute.) (Thanks to the epic quest to de-cute-ify Thalan.) (Ah, yes.) (Wait, what happened? Did I miss something?) (And we apparently still have Roseli in the party. Because someone needs to monitor us troublemaking youn'uns.) Soo, we go back to the ship, get our weapons and then we go to the gravity generator and make the heavy worlders move. Right? (Darn right. And shoot things in the head.) * Roseli is now known as Murynal [You're currently in the ritzy downtown. The environment is fairly tropical and there's lush parks, sky bridges over traffic, and lots of rock and gel people.] (Muryn can stab things in the head instead.) (Sorry, skimming the last log. I started with second to last and didn't make it in time!) (Oddly, both Murynal and Rose are mostly deadpan.) (Yeah, but for very different reasons.) (Yes. One is a genius, the other's insane. Wait, that's not right.) (Nah, you know that deep down they're both highly repressed psychopaths who'd kill their own families given half a chance. ;p) (Oh, Arwen and/or RDM, you live at 950 Edgar Drive, Apt. 30, right?) (That we do) (Yup.) (Excellent. Seeing as I just mailed a package to that address. I'd hate for the anthrax to kill one of your neighbours by mistake.) (That'd be sad.) (Right, strange package gets forwarded to 29) (Mury actually would kill her own family if she weren't properly hydrated.) (And I'd like to say a hi to any friendly NSA agents now reading. The logs are here if you want to catch up: http://www.zort.net/~gsanders/jumpers.html :P ] (No, no, just let Dre open it.) (Hurray! An audience for our RPing.) (Worst venue for "Let Me Tell You About My Character" rambling: Guantanamo Bay Interrogation Room.) [A double decker bus passes while you guys stand around. The sharp eyed will notice a sleeping guy in robes on the upper level being jostled by fellow passengers and told that this isn't that kind of bus.] 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Justine (2d6) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 7. [There's a fair number of flying vehicles above the city. You get the feeling that this game may be blowing its budget on digital effects rather than a script.] (... What's the mechanic for being sharp eyed, again?) (Roll against soul. Heightened Senses or Heightened Awareness help.) (Okay, I win.) (Not that it matters.) (Sharp eyed? Thought that was mind, oh wells. :D) (... And now, we wait as everyone reads logs and/or tries to remember how to play their characters.) (Yeah, seriously.) (Sorry!) * Justine looks around, still giving off something of a tourist vibe as she takes in a whole world full of aliens. It's just like being in a science fiction story! * Denal takes this opportunity to play a copy of Portal she got off a parking lot vendor. Let's see if she can beat it before the end of the session. * Murynal responds to Neisis (betcha didn't see that coming): "Sounds like a plan. We need to get a residence permit, too." (Nah, it's okay. I read every Jumpers log but I'm still having trouble trying to get into Justine.) (Justine approves of Portal's anti-A.I. stance.) [The residency permits are available at an orbiting space station. Possessing one illegally will attract the attention of every cop in the sector until you get them signed.] * Neisis nods. "That's the next step. We go up to the station and get one! Then come back here and get it signed. Then, uhm.. Oh right! We find places around here to live!" * Thalan stretches. "Seems like it's been a while, hasn't it?" One step at a time, one step at a time. We also have to tell him we're going to take his deal. If we decide to. And go shopping. Shopping for? * Murynal keeps heading for the ship! Anything. We're on a new world. It's what you do on a new world. * Thalan walks to the ship! "Then we'd need to take out that gang of criminals too," Justine says, because it's Repeat What We Just Learned Day. I never heard of that one. [And you're back to the Urba-Park.] Magic, translating glasses, and things. Oooh! If they're just thugs they'd probably be scared of us already. * Neisis points at the ship. "Turrets, because we forgot to get them last time." "Do we need to buy clothes or do the replicators make them?" "All I have is the uniform I'm wearing." Mmm, point. * Neisis blinks. "I have no clue." We'll ask Denal. I like this plan. * Thalan sighs and walks along with the ladies. Clothes shopping, some things don't change. (*snerks* RDM can RP out clothes shopping for the second time in under a week.) ( :/) [There's a vendor hanging around the ship. He seems to have a range of low quality goods. He's trying to sell Denal a bag with a picture of Hello Kitty and text that says "Crush the Rebel Alliance!" She doesn't seem interested.] (I keep having to resist putting brackets around things. I'm not the GM for once!) * Denal opens the door for you guys. * Thalan glances at the Portal game. "Would be better with ships." * Murynal blinks at the dude but gets in. She goes for the !lightsaber hidden under the pilot's chair. "Hey, Denal, can the replicator make clothes?" (Portal game?) (Portal!) (THE CAKE IS A LIE) * Neisis grins at the vendor. "Scuse us, need to get to our ship." She walks past him. (THE GAME IS A LIE!) Naw, no gravity would throw off the mechanics. And yes! I would gladly design fashions for you. What do you need? * Thalan grabs his plasma rifle and stocks it in his handy haversack/bag of holding extradimensional space. "Well, that'll be handy." * Justine looks slightly longingly at a the low cost souvenir merchandise, as she rolls by the vendor. * Justine, once on board, grabs her pistol and puts it back in its holster on her chair. * Neisis grabs her photon-claw and puts it... whereever it is exactly that she keeps her weapons. (Hammerspace?) I think whatever is common on this world? 4 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (4 2d6) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 7 11 6 4. (Katanaspace!) Or at least fashionable and practical But, I like my armor. * Thalan takes a seat and leans back. "Do you wear it all the time?" * Murynal has a drink of her water. * Thalan sniffs. "Trust me, if you don't change clothes, I can tell." (What WERE people wearing on this planet?) (Fairly touristy stuff, depends on the race, some fashionable) (Yeah, but is it anything like, say, what Mury wears? ;P) * Neisis blinks. "I just. Oh, right I don't have access to the clothes cleaning magic here. That's not good." [The replicator produces a shiny futuristic jacket and miniskirt for Justine. Mury gets a dessert themed Hawaiian shirt and cut-offs. Neisis gets a light bit of barding that complements her armor and Thalan gets a light jacket that seemed all the rage in town. The garmet feels good on his fur.] (garment) (Yeah, Mury is actually pretty close to standard garb) (Her default outfit that is) * Thalan smiles. "Hey, this is pretty nice. What is it?" * Justine looks at the miniskirt. "Can you make me pants instead? Or shorts?" (Desert-themed hawaiian shirt? So cacti, snakes, etc.? ;P) Sure... if you want to screw up the look. ::shiny shorts materialize:: * Neisis picks up the barding and looks at it. "I am supposed wear something else under this right?" (Or Dessert-themed, so we're talking ice cream and cake?) (She's going to be sitting down in a chair the whole time... or else floating about in zero G. Neither ideal for a miniskirt...) (Cacti, snakes, and bannana splits) (Clearly she's ment to keep her legs crossed at all times.) * Murynal picks up the Hawaiian shirt and looks it over. "It's very colorful." She turns and shows it to the others, putting it against her torso. "What do you think? The patterns are weird." I don't know what ice cream has to do with snakes. "Maybe I can do the Hawaiian look instead. I think it looks fun." Right Neisis, over your armor. (Btw, Mury's an empath, so feed emotions away. ;P) * Murynal grins. "Sure." She hands Justine the dessert/desert shirt and cut- offs. * Neisis looks at Mury. "I have no idea, but brown and brown look good." * Neisis then slips the barding over her head. I don't know if they'll fit, though. Denal, can you make them for Justine's size? * Justine seems to genuinely think the Hawaiian look would be fun, and she apparently took Denal seriously that using shorts with the outfit originally suggested would be bad. * Justine is probably too large for Mury's outfit. Yes, put them back in the replicator. "Do you want mine?" Justine asks Mury. Not the skirt. Or the jacket, really. It's too... * Murynal tries to come up with the right word, then settles on, "Shiny." * Thalan puts his jacket on. He seems a bit amused at how much everyone's talking about their clothes. Shiny is bad? If you want to stay hidden, yes. You'll never fit in in the future with that attitude. (If Neisis seems keen on the shininess, Justine will give her the shiny clothes instead.) Unless you want to blind onlookers, of course. Oh, true. Unless everybody else wears shiny things, then you'd stand out by not being shiney. (Denal believes that it's currently The Future?) (That was the statement) Does everyone wear shiny things? * Justine puts the Hawaiian outfit back into the replicator to produce an outfit in her size. Yes. Unless you're so good at hiding they never see your shiny-or- notshiny self. [The outfit shines for a moment and reforms appropriately sized for Justine.] Hang on... oh, I died. Gr... Oh, no, not everyone. But they became really popular when laser weapons got cheap. * Justine takes it, then looks around the room, apparently unwilling to change in front of the others- or possibly just Thalan. Oh. [One window open on your mainscreen show's Denal's character died and then reloaded.] (... Greg, are you playing Portal while you DM?) * Murynal looks at the jacket some more, then says, "I'll try it. Denal, resize this jacket for me and... get me some pants instead of that skirt, please. If you can make a shirt that goes better with this, that'd be nice, too. Please try to make them loose enough so I can move." (No, I'm playing a friends mix CD.) (Right now FreezePop. They fit the mood.) * Thalan doesn't seem to be paying attention. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 11. Uh, you arn't supposed to die. No, no, you put the portal to the left, then the energy ball goes through and knocks the turret over. (I forget the layout of the ship. It has two floors, but did it have separate rooms or what?) (There's a bathroom that can work as a changing room) Lemme figure it out on my own. Denal? [Mury's outfit shimmers. She gets back a shirt, pants, and a longer loose fitting dress. Looks like it will be great for maneuvering. However, staring out it can be uncomfortable because its folds makes it reflect itself.] * Justine rolls over to the bathroom. "Denal, can you give me zero G in the bathroom so I can change?" Done. ::And it is in fact done:: Ohh, that one's hard to look at. Hard to look at means good for hiding, right? * Justine rolls in, shuts the door, and rolls out a second later in a Hawaiian shirt and cutoff shorts. ::Denal returns the bathroom to default gravity after Justine leaves:: Not... really. Aww... * Neisis squints "Hard to hit anyway, unless they've got some big attacks that only have to get close. Then that's very bad." * Murynal squints at the outfit. "I didn't mean a dress," she comments, but she takes the shirt and pants. "Can you make a shirt a lot like the one I have now?" Sure, put your shirt in the replicator. (This is the first time Justine's ever been out of uniform. I have a hard time picturing it.) * Murynal looks around, then says, "Thalan, don't look." (I have to wonder, if Neisis is wearing barding, does that mean she's wearing horse armor? o.o;) (Neisis is big enough! :D) 'kay. (Ha, but no. Barding can also refer to cloth that's put on over human armor.) Would he care? I mean it's not like you've got fur under your shirt. Right? I think I'd remember if you did. He doesn't have to care. I care. * Murynal waits for Thalan Not Looking, then takes off her shirt (there's a bra underneath!) and puts it in the replicator. * Neisis nods and keeps an eye on Thalan. [The dress disappears and the shirt gains the property shiny!] * Thalan doesn't look. You people are no fun. :( ... I didn't mean change the shirt I already have. Oh. ::she duplicates Mury's old shirt:: [There's now two shirts in the replicator, one shiny, one not.] (Uh... we may have just lost Arwen...) (There are.) (And gryph!) (And possibly RDM.) * Ardweden has joined #jumpers * Neisis has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) * WeightofTaki has joined #jumpers (Someone paste stuff to me an' Gryph?) (Here they are back.) * WeightofTaki is now known as Neisis * Ardweden is now known as Mury ... I didn't mean change the shirt I already have. Oh. ::she duplicates Mury's old shirt:: [There's now two shirts in the replicator, one shiny, one not.] * Murynal has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) (Thalan wants to ogle Mury? I thought he didn't find non-cat-people attractive?) * Mury picks up the shiny shirt, then gets dressed, in shiny shirt, shiny pants, and shiny jacket. She does it surprisingly quickly. "Okay, you can look now." (I don't remember if he ever specified) (It may have just been the vibe I got from him.) * Mury works on putting on her belt, hooking her water bottle on. * Thalan glances back. "It'll do." (Did Neisis change yet? Or Thalan?) Shiny enough? * Mury does a little spin. (Neisis just slipped the barding over her head. It goes over her armor.) (Neisis and Thalan's outfit changes were just additions, since they both wear 'armor'.) Anyways, you guys done? Skynet is looking to play some Rock Band and I just got a CD. I want to buy outfits for my new drummer! * Thalan laughs. "What's your band going to be called?" Murynal's going to blind people. * Mury thinks about that, then nods. "Let's see." * Mury picks up her sword and activates it. OH MY GOD THE LIGHT. I think Skynet already has a band. T-something. I can never keep track of the contin--- OOOH SHINY! * Justine blinks and shields her eyes. * Neisis shades her eyes and looks away. "Oww!" * Thalan blink-blinkblink... puts on shades and blinks some more. "Wow, that's bright." ... Neat. * Mury is now known as Murynal Could you turn that off now? And not do it again untill I'm farther away? It's better like this. Good call Justine and Murynal. Or at least used to it. * Murynal turns the sword off. "We could get everyone glasses like Thalan's." (My retinas! My poor, poor retinas!) Then we'll be ready for combat. * Murynal smiles. * Neisis nods. "If we do that, I should make this shiny too so I get the same effect." She fingers the edge of her tabbard. I dunno, that'd cut down on character differentiation. (Thalan's glasses were actually made originally for Drow so they don't get dazzeled in sunlight. Go fig.) (Sadly, Thalan's fur is no longer a shiny coat.) But it would improve on my ability to not get hit and make it more likely for our enimies to get blinded! (enemies) (thanks) Practicality, and all that. * Neisis takes it off and puts it in the replicator. Okay, but if I start having trouble telling you people apart, don't blame me. ::Barding gains shiny! property:: "Can I get sunglasses too, please?" (By thw way, what does Thalan's jacket look like?) I'm the tall one with blue hair. And after I go poof, there won't be any problem at all. Blue hair is pretty noticable. OOoh... THat's what that is. * Neisis puts on her new shineyness. "Justine's got a good idea too." * Denal produces three sets of Prayban label sunglasses. Nice, thanks. * Neisis picks one of them up and puts it on. "Perfect!" [Thalan's jacket is a velvety overcoat. Think late-era European nobility.] * Justine puts hers on too. It goes with her Hawaiian look. (Hahaha, okay) * Thalan chuckles. "Now all I need is a cane and a plumed hat." (So, now all the jumpers wear shades but the Farbeyonders don't) * Thalan glances at Denal. "That's a joke." * Murynal takes the sunglasses and puts them on, then hooks her hilt to her belt. "So... what do we do now? Say we'll move the heavyworlders to get a weapons permit, then get a residence permit from that station?" Oh, it is symbiote like I thought? Anything's better than sitting around here. That's my plan. (Yes, because the FB people don't need 'em.) (They don't wear shiny clothes.) * Neisis climbs up to the bridge so she can use the comms equipment to call the mayor. (.... But I bet Steven would.) (But they do have glowing eyes.) [You can raise the mayor's office. He's there looking all gelly and cylindrical. (Psh, if that were true, they'd wear sunglasses like the smart villains do.) (I thought we already got a three day weapons permit?) (You do, although it's specific to this locale) (Screw the rules, I have money!) Huh, looks like you might fit in here after all. * Neisis belatedly remembers to take off her shades. "Hi, we've decided to take the job for you signature, so I'd like a map of gravity generator area and everything you know about the heavyworlders. Oh! and what a good place to ask them to move too would be." (Neisis is captain! Hurray!) * He transmit over a map including subway directions. It's a mixed residential industrial area. * Thalan downloades to his datapad and mapbox. Mix of species. Strong, tend to jump around, leaders often carry heavy weapons. That and my spies have picked up them talking about some sort of 'deterrent.' I don't care where they go, I just want them out of my town. (Sadly, it was a miscommunication. They were talking about "detergent" as part of their plan to open a space laundromat.) Do they have a single leader in charge of all of them? Are there any places with heavy gravity around here? It'd be faster if we knew. More of a gang. No particular leader. And there are pockets of heavy gravity immediately around the generator. They're clearly marked on the street and fenced off. (/me listens to Kate singing Nirvana in the basement.) (Haha) (I can five star that on hard! :)) But that doesn't help, I can't ask them to move there because they're already there. Oh, I see what you mean. Anyways, they don't live in the heavy areas, they prefer to flex their muscles elsewhere. Uh, they could try Fogon. Town half- a-day away. I'll provide tickets. Okay! Thanks! You don't like Fogon very much, do you? "Won't the people in Fogon object?" * Thalan smirks. Don't know, don't care. Once they're uprooted it'll be easy enough to keep them from coming back. * Justine frowns but holds her tongue. Are there any other options? Sure. Kill 'em. That's what I thought we were going to do initially. ... I see. Kill some, it'll chase the rest off. That works too. * Murynal looks at Neisis. "Are we done?" Yep. Talk to you later Mayor. [He closes the channel.] Okay, time to take the subway. (Actualy, no she says "time to go to the generator.") * Thalan gets up and heads out to the generator all sneaky-like. Or not. [As you leave the ship, the parking garage vendor tries to wave over Justine.] * Justine slows down and turns to roll over to him. * Murynal turns her attention to the dude, but she doesn't say anything. (I missed the 'to' in that the first time.) (Ha.) "Hi." Just found, special for you. 50 credits! ::He shows a nice set of rims appropriatelly sized for Justine's wheel chair. They say 'Keep on Rolling Trologia' on the edge. (You presently have 500.1 credits I think) (Do they have a picture or anything, or just the words?) (HAhaha, pimpin'.) * Neisis waits impatiently. (They don't really have room for a picture. They just fit in the wheel and spin independently of it.) (Dude, Justine gets pimpin' rims! :D) (I was picturing somthing that would cover the "hubcaps", I think.) 'No, thank you," Justine says politely. Wait, special price since you're not a native here. 25 credits. (Does he have anything else for sale?) (Yeah, wide selection of kitsch. Postcards, pens, holographs that you can shake to see the city after an earthquake.) (holograms) * Murynal waits. And is shiny. "How much is that, though?" Justine asks, pointing to a hologram of the city. 50. () * Justine waves at her friends in a "can one of you come over here for a minute" way. * Murynal comes over for a minute. * Neisis comes over. (OBEY THE HAND!) "Can we spend money?" (Oh, are you guys going to want to pause for dinner or run on through?) (I can manage either way) (I'll likely heat up some pasta in the microwave and play through.) (We were just talking about ordering out.) * Thalan looks disinterested. (/me nods. "Well think about whether you'll need to pause and play on for now.) I think so? * Murynal looks to Neisis for confirmation. We have money, what do you want? "I don't know. Maybe a postcard? Most of this stuff is kind of expensive." * Neisis nods. "What's a postcard?" Like e-mail only solid. "It has pictures. See?" Justine lifts a hand to point at one. Ooh. That's pretty, but kinda small. And, uhm, who would you send it to? "You can keep them too. Or I could get a mug. What do you think?" I think you should get what you want to get the most. * Murynal nods. "The cards are pretty," she says, helpfully. "How much are the postcards?" 2 credits. "Okay." Justine picks out a couple. One shows the skyline and another shows a busy marketplace full of aliens of all sorts. [And moving things along, you can stealthily arrive in the generator district. It's now mid-afternoon. Everythings a bit more rundown although there's more street vendors with good smelling food. At the end of the block you can see a bipedal cow looking guy who seems to be collecting money from passers-by for no apparent product or service.] * Murynal is so very not stealthy, thanks. * Neisis is about as stealthy as a gigantic walking disco ball. * Murynal is also wearing shades, as a tribute to her and the rest of the Jumpers' badassitude. [Mury and Neisis sneak with the stealth of a million suns!] * Murynal million sun sneaks right on up to the bipedal cow. * Neisis just walks and reflects. * Thalan is considerably sneakier by comparison and is probably completely unnoticed thanks to the glare of the others. [Mury is getting a lot of looks from passers-by, some complimentary, some border-line harrassing. Anyone actually trying to be stealthy give me the relevant roll.] * Justine isn't stealthy either, being in a motorized ground vehicle. (Eveyone wants Mury.) Hey shinies, there's a toll to walk this district. 2d6-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6-5) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 1. (Mur's actually got Appearance. ^^) (Make by 9. :D) * Neisis grins at the cow. "Ooh? How much?" (So do I! 1 whole level of it) (I have 1 level too!) (We are Hawt!) [Cow-guy seems completely unaware of Thalan.] * Murynal resists punching a harrassing guy in the face. (I am not attractive.) (But you're ADORABLE when five.) [Neisis and Justine also get some looks, although there's some debate over whether Justine's shirt is successfully ironic.] (You totally were!) * Justine's shirt is not ironic at all. * Thalan makes his way near Cow-guy, ready to stick some claws right next to his jugular if he gives too much trouble. 10 creds a person. So thirty. (Yes, Thalan was.) Why a toll? To ensure your safety, y'know what I mean? * Neisis continues to grin. "Can we get that discounted to nothing if we don't turn you inside out?" (I'm sure he could still be adorable if you somehow manage to persuade him to be cute.) "On whose authority?" Justine asks. (We should have left him at age five. :P Then he'd have cancelled out FB.) (Neisis, intimidation (street) roll) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 5. Made by 1) (If that's soul. Body woudl be by 2) * Cow-guy looks over Neisis. "Uh, okay, half off. Don't tell no one." * Thalan hisses softly to Cow-guy. "Maybe they could get in for free if I just rip your throat out right now." No, realy we're not going to pay you. But I'm in a good mood so I'm going to let you leave. (Intimidate check Thalan, Neisis, roll to give a -2 bonus if you succeed.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 5. (Success) (No answer for Justine?) (We've probably distracted him.) (Justine: No, he's focusing on the threats.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 5. (Um, depending, I either just made that or made it by a whole lot) Uh, I get to leave? Good. ::he drops to all fours and looks like he's gonna run away:: (He folded like a cheap lawn chair!) * Neisis smiles widly at him. "Yep, you just have to tell us where your boss is before you go." * He gestures with his head. "Two blocks that way, one block over. By the generator." Bye! * Cow-guy runs off. You had too much fun doing that. * Thalan comes out of the shadows. "But it's so easy." * Neisis grins at Murynal. "I did. C'mon." [You get some applause from passers-by. "Way to show him!" "Be careful!" "I think you mean her." "No, he's a cow guy." "Cows are girls, bulls are guys." "I'm sooo confused right now." * Neisis walks that way. (Did it have udders?) (Yes) [Justine frowns at this. "The local police should have stopped this already."] (Sorry, I slipped into brackets... Damn habit.) * Neisis nods. "You don't have to live here. Just get the permit signed." (You know what I meant. * Justine etc.) I don't think counting on local law-enforcement is a good idea here. * Murynal nods. "They might not be able to, anyway." "But-" Justine trails off. Those of you with empathy might sense that she's frustrated and offended by the lax law enforcement standards. Those without empathy might as well. [The location seems to be a mechanically oriented shopping district. At the far end there's a fenced heavy gravity area, but part of the fence has been knocked down. There's one big shop with a stout short human guy and a bear-guy standing outside. The human looking one has a laser pipe. Neisis would recognize it.] (Oh, question repeats about dinner break. You guys make a decision on ordering out? I have some food but I can wait a bit) Maybe after all of this, you can go the law enforcement? That works too. (I just got my nuked noodles.) (Current topic: We're sending out for pizza.) (Send me some) "I guess. But if they're letting this happen, I don't think it's because they don't know about it. Someone must have tried to report it." ( /pizza) The mayor knows about it. He sent us to deal with it, remember. Or her. I can't tell with slimes. "True." That molifies Justine a bit, but clearly she's still not keen on the collapse of law and order that all this implies. It. * Murynal peers in. "It might not be a good idea for Justine to go into that area." Slimes don't have genders usually. [This shopping area is fairly subdued compared to the past ones. Customers keep their heads down and most of the people seem to be professionals. They're often carting around heavy equipment. Also, the rest of the street, including the area with the guarded shop, is out of the heavy grav zone.] She can stay back and shoot. * Murynal nods. * Neisis blinks. "I forgot to ask what they looked like, but maybe that's them over there with the laser pipe." Maybe. Do you want to see? * Neisis nods and walks over to them. * Thalan blends into the background and, well, observers. * Murynal goes to see! [Awareness rolls against mind for anyone approaching.] (Why should Justine stay back?) (Heavy gravity area.) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2d6-2) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 5. * Justine hangs back, one hand resting on the handle of her pistol, the other in her lap. (Can I use heightened senses on that?) (Made, spot on.) (Yes, you can always use it on awareness rolls unless I say otherwise) "Yeah, I can't go in there. Even if I could, I wouldn't be able to move." (Hearing or sight?) (Should I roll?) (Go with your better, just tell me which) 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6-4) and gets -2, a CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! "I wish I got to hand out more of these, really." (Thalan: If you do, put a +2 on your stealth roll) 2d6-8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6-8) and gets a natural 6 for a result of -2. (... THey're the same, how about sight) (Neisis sees into your SOUL.) (That's if you need a roll, both of them.) [Okay. So there's another five guys inside. Two moving heavy equipment, two with heavy guns, and one holding a suitcase.] (If only I had gafoi ;_;) [Neisis notes the one with the suitcase is saying to the heavy weapons guy. "Finally, we have it. With our ultimate weapon we can roll up this whole city!] (Those making the roll by a lesser margin get the count on guys.) (I am heavy weapons guy. And THIS, is my weapon.) (Right. So Thalan, you have to go in and body pull the boss to the low gravity area. Remember, they social.) (How much heavier is this area?) (Too heavy for me!) (The street is moderate the interior is heavier the further you get back) (Any mechanical effect out here?) (Not on the street) * Thalan has a plasma rifle! (And why do you want ME to pull? You're the tank!) (Me? Nah. Neisis is the tank.) (Ranger pull!) (Geeze, asking a ranger to do a tank's job.) (One you enter, there will be a body roll against gravity for an irritation effect. In the back the roll with a penalty for worse irration) * Justine has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) (Justine would have a penalty on all the rolls of course.) (Right, I can do that) (But she's fine on the street) * Murynal gestures and the air around her shimmers a little. (Putting up the psychic shield.) (Anyhow, someone catch nic up when he's back) * Justine has joined #jumpers (Are you people talking about Jumpers as if it were EQ2?) (Yes) (... Yes?) * Neisis walks up to the two guys at the door and grins at them. "Excuse me." * Murynal speaks to the guy closest to her! "Hi." * Justine stays out on the street, where she isn't going to be hampered and harmed merely by existing in a hostile environment. Hello! We're looking for the boss. Is he in? [The bear seems somewhat immune to Mury's charms.] * Neisis nods. "We've got a message to deliver." * Murynal doesn't really care! Win. Who from? (She could roll Sed: Male.) (I actually have a psychic ability that makes it easier, too!) Can't tell you unless you're the boss, sorry. (Oh? Heh.) (She's never used it.) (That's going to be... diplomacy? What passes for diplomacy in BESM 2?) * Thalan takes up hiding nearby. Chances are nobody'll notice with the hawt chixxorz there. (What is it?) (A skill I don't have. Want me to just roll soul on that?) (Sure.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 9. (Failed ;_;) (Do I get to roll?) (There isn't a 'diplomacy' skill in 2e) (Sure, but say something to accompany it). (It's another weird lack. Like Notice.) (Oh, then no, because she doesn't think Neisis needs it. :P) (The closest are seduction, perfroming arts, and urban tracking) (I've had to use Seduction in FB as a Diplomacy type skill at times.) Sorry, no. Tell me who you are and I'll go see if the boss wants to see you. [Meanwhile on the inside the boss guy opens up the suitcase. It's on a table and the top is now facing the door, so you can't see what's inside.] My name's Neisis, you won't have heard of me yet. I'm a jumper. (It's a DOUGHNUT.) (RUN!) (Oh SHI-) Neisis the Jumper. Check. * Shorty goes in. Bear stays outside. (Murynal doesn't introduce herself.) (I'm not as scary.) [Shorty and boss confer.] (But you can mess with his mind?) * Neisis smiles at Bear as she waits and watches the goings on behind him. (Who has obvious weapons? Obvious meaning no abilities to hide them and you aren't hiding yourself.) (Mine are hidden) * Justine is a ways away from the door but in shooting range, and if you bother to check, she has a pistol ready to be drawn. (Mine are hidden, but then again the rest of me is too!) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 6. (Mine's a hilt hooked to my belt. There's no blade attached, so it's probably not that scary looking.) * Bear seems aware of Justine. * Short guy comes back. "You can come in, leave any weapons at the door." He gestures to a locker on the wall that's a few meters from the door. * Justine seems aware of Bear too. * Neisis shrugs and walks over to it. She deposits one of her iron bars and then turns. "Lead on." * Short guy waits to see if anyone else is coming in. (Is the locker just a cubbyhole, or do you have to open/close it?) (open/close) (Can I manage to sneak in? Just wondering.) [And my use of guys earlier was non-gendered. There's a male/female pair moving heavy equipment and another male/female pair with heavy weapons. The boss is a fairly ordinay looking blue-haired tan-skinned guy.] (Thalan: Stealth roll, +4 penalty if you want to try) (Eh... Okay!) 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6-1) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 2. (Make by 8.) [Thalan finds an upper window and hides up in the rafters of the shop.] * Murynal just walks in. * Thalan is sneaky and acrobatic like that. * Justine keeps watching the entrance. [Okay, and gravity check. This is against body. Super strength helps. If you fail, you'll be irritated (+2 penalty to everything)] (Do athletics help?) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 7. (Err, acrobatics) (On the dot) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2d6) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 4. (Made!) (Let me read the description) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 5. (And I made that.) (Oh, moot point then) (Justine is so not going in there.) (Acrobatics won't in future rolls. I will take controlled breathing though) * Boss looks up. He's on a platfrom in the back. It's about a meter up. There's stairs but they're on the opposite side of the room from him. The platform is the dividing mark for heavy gravity. Well, hello. What have we here? (Oh, if anyone has personal heavy weapons skill or military hardware or weapons encyclopedia, let me know.) (I have it.) (So the platform's on the heavy-heavy side?) (I have heavy weapons (gunnery).) (Right. There's a door behind him, presently open, that leads to the back. That area seems more closed in, hallways, office, etc.) (Okay, those with heavy weapons, give me a roll to recognize the heavy weapons in here.) 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6-3) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 5. (Against mind) (Make by 3.) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2d6-2) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 5. (Spot on.) [Okay, I announced that in msg. Carry on.] * Neisis walks into the center of the room and takes a second to concider her odds on jumping up there. "I've got a message for you." Yeah? * Murynal stands closer to the door, hands in her pockets. She's bad ass. Oh yeah. * Thalan takes up a hidden position in the rafters with which he can snipe from. * Neisis grins at him. "Yeah. The mayor wants you to take a vacation to Fogon. He'll even pay for it." (/me fails at the badass) * Boss takes something out of the suitcase and hands it to one of the heavy equipment movers (visual awareness checks, +4 penalty from size). "Oh yeah. Well, I want the mayor to take a dirt nap. I am also willing to pay for that. I know a nice plot uptown. Classy. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 5. (Made) 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6-4) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 3. (Hahahaha, made) (+6 penalty for Justine, since she's back a ways) 2d6+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2d6+2) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 8. (Fail.) [Results sent in message.] * The male heavy equipment mover heads to the back of the shop with the item. (What am I rolling for? I doubt I can see inside, so I probably shouldn't even get a roll.) * Thalan takes aim to take out the guy with the suitcase. (I'm assuming you're on the far side of the street or something. But yeah, you might not have line of sight up there.) (Renew your stealth roll Thalan) Mhm, no sorry I'm going to have to insist that you accept. (And now I'm going to burn my DR by being badass and failing.) (I was on the far side of the street, but aren't they inside a building now?) (Yeah, but the door is open) 2d6-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6-5) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 1. * Neisis takes a running jump up to where the boss is, hopefully to get up there before the guy with the suitcase gets through the door. (Made by 8) (Penalties) [Thalan has the benefits of aiming.] [Okay, now we go to init. Neisis gets a surprise round since she went first. Thalan gets the aim benefit. Everyone was kind of expecting a fight at this point, so that's all for special stuff.] (I'm not rolling. Assume I failed.) d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (d6+7) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 12. d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (d6+8) and gets a natural 1 for a result of 9. 2d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6+7) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 14. (Neisis: +3 penalty to the body roll.) 2d6+3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6+3) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 14. (DR) 2d6+3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6+3) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 11. (Damnit) d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Justine (d6+7) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 12. (Neisis needs acrobatics) (She has, but they don't apply) (Awww.) (But what about the jumping spec?) (That was the deal with gravity roll, I think, which would be seperate) (Correct) (Okay, what was the margin of failure) (Oh, this is the body roll.) (4 ;_;) (Hm.., I'll say single level of irritation. +2 to everything.) [The jump roll is at -2 before penalties. Acrobatics (jumping) apply. Auto-pass if you have jump] (Jump the spec or jump the ability?) (Jump the ability) (Oh, never mind) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6-2) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 9. (WTF DICY!?) (I'd give you a DR, but I don't have any.) (Wait, I'm jumping before the gravity section that's -4 and I make) (Plus I don't- Oh, that's cool!) (Hmm... I guess that's true. Okay, you're up to him. You have time for an attack. Make it while I figure out init) (I have a rank of speed. I have more than enough time to get there!) * Neisis pulls out her photon blade and her other iron bar and makes for the suitcase guy. 2 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2 2d6-3) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 3 0. (Justine: give me your init roll) (Swinging with the bar first) (I did. It was a 12.) (Ah, sorry, missed it) (Ah, see it now) (Oh, Neisis, give me the init roll again unless you have a bonus to give you an extra d6. We're in BESM, not tristat) [Neisis pounds the guy with her shiny blade and iron bar! How much damage Neisis?] (OH... I screwed that up anyway. And I've got a funky ass init due to rules from ND) 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6+6) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 15. (Sure, blame ND.) 3d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (3d6+7) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 17. d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (d6+6) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 12. (We always blame ND.) d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (d6+7) and gets a natural 2 for a result of 9. (Damage is 45) (I blame ND for everything.) [Suitcase carrying guy goes down. The suitcase falls open and a little ball and a little ball roll out.] d6+11 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (d6+11) and gets a natural 2 for a result of 13. (armor doesn't count against the photon blade and only for half on the claw) (Dangit, I was gonna say 'Say goodbye to your head, wanker' and then peg him in the head with a plasma bolt. :() (Gibbing him's just as good) (Thalan's just jealous 'cause he doesn't have awesome init.) (Wait, sorry, I may have misunderstood. Did you mean the guy who got the thing from the suitcase, or the boss?) (I'mma gibbing the guy with the superweapon) (Right) [Neisis, Boss, 3 remaining goons-Justine-Thalan, Mury, Little Ball.] (What about the goons outside?) (Oh, right. Make that 5 remaining goons) (Who are the goons I'm most likely to need to deal with.) (Okay, we'll keep doing this Jumpers style, everyone announce their move at once, it resolves in order of init) (Poor bear, forgotten) * Justine is outside, so she's not immediately springing into action. (Hold action.) * Boss picks up the table and throws it at Neisis. (I'm gonna snipe the boss.) * Neisis grins at the boss. "You reconcidering that vacation yet?" * Short guy swings his laser bar at Mury. (Going to use other fun things from ND here . Fear is a Gift.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 6. * Thalan takes aim at the boss and fires a plasma bolt at him from the ceiling. (Need a soul roll from bossy) * Female lifter pushes a dolly full of equipment at Mury. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 5. (He makes) (Fear is a gift? What?) (Oh no, laser bar!) (Special ability) (What's it do?) (Fear is a Gift The Kensei induces such fear in his opponents that if his opponent fails a contested Soul roll, that opponent suffers a +1 penalty to defense rolls against the Kensei.) * Murynal flips doombud into her hand and activates it as she brings the newly formed blade to block the laser bar of doom. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2d6-3) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 2. * Male heavy gunner shoots at Neisis and the female heavy gunner opens up a torrent of flame on her. (Yeah, I'm good.) * Murynal is now BLINDING. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 3. (IT BURNS!) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 5. [The people she's fighting manage to resist the flare.] 2 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2 2d6-3) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 8 3. (It was a brilliant plan, and they had to roll really low!) [The bar misses. The dolly is a potential hit.] 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6-3) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 5. [The table is a potential hit.] 2 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2 2d6-4) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 1 7. [The plamsa gun is a potential hit, the flame thrower misses.] [Okay, resolution time.] (So, two ranged deffs?) [Correct, first table then plasma.] 2d6+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6+2) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 11. 2d6+4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6+4) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 10. (Missed both) (Does Mury's shield protect Neisis?) (Personal, sorry.) (This is why I wear armor) [17 dmg from table; 36 from plasma. No piercing.] [Laser bar misses Mury; heavy equipment bounces harmless off her shield.] (Sweet that's only half my HP!) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets 2, a CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! "I wish I got to hand out more of these, really." (Ouch.) [Boss successfully dodges Thalan's attack.] (I never rolled it, actually.) 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6-3) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 0. (He dodges ANYWAY.) (I wasn't aware I had to roll again for avoiding the heavy equipment. ^^;) (Yup, dodges.) (DODGE.) (Mury: Moot point.) (If I crit hit he wouldn't have gotten a dodge roll.) (Thalan: True) (I think Justine can tell what's going on, since laser bar guy used to be outside and I'm fighting at the doorway.) (Mury: Correct, and the bear is headed in. Take your turn if you like.) (Also Mury, you have time to attack if you so desire. I'm not charging you a round for your draw) (Actually, wait. (No, there is a quick draw in BEsm) (Ne'er mind) (Sorry, I forgot there was. ^^;;) * Justine rolls forward slightly- but not too close- when she sees Mury spring into action and the bear head in. She pulls her gun, and holding it steady with both hands, she tries to shoot the bear in the back.] (I get two attacks, so you know.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Justine (2d6) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 8. (Yeah, made.) (Oh, then you get 1 attack) (Yeah, she can spend one attack to draw and another to attack.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 9. [Bear guy gets hit! What's the damage?] (Wait, did drawing take my attack?) (I don't remember if you need a round for that in BESM.) (And she does whatever a Blaster Pistol does in the book.) (Plus 8 for ACV.) (Justine: In your case, I'll say no. You were in a situation where drawing was trivial) * Murynal pushes the bar away, then flicks her sword up and left, trying to decapitate shorty. Apparently he offended her. (Mury has to draw because she's in the room and actively watched, if she drew it would have been part of the surprise round) (What's the penalty for a head shot? +4?) (He offended her by not finding her hawt.) (Yeah) (+4 for a called shot, correct.) (Shorty thought she was hot, bear wasn't impressed) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2d6-2) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 6. (Made.) (Oh. Okay. Good thing Thalan didn't peek earlier, then.) (Why's that a good thing?) (:D) (She might have taken offense.) (And decapitated him.) 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d8) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 10. (What's damage on the dwarf? I'll say called shot doubles (I think that's the rule) (Blaster pistol in the book: 10 damage.) (Thanks Mury) (So 18 on the bear.) [Bear is hurt but still up.] [He looks like his thick hide protected him a bit from the burn.] * Justine looks grimly satisfied at the black scorch mark she's left on the bear's back. (23 damage, armor penetrating, so 46.) [Shorter is shorter still, having lost his head in a crisis.] (Shorty rather) (... I'm laughing. A lot.) (Pwnt) * Meanwhile a very little guy pushes the very little ball into the back area. (You're laughing at that pun? Dude, that's a Justine level pun.) [Round 2: Neisis, Boss, 4 goons-Justine-Thalan, Mury.] (Would you prefer: "Mury came out a head from that attack. A short guys head. Although presumably she won't want to keep it.] (Does the bear turn around or keep ignoring Justine to head inside? It affects her move.) (Bear turns around) ( Yeah, well, I'm taller.) * Neisis runs up and attacks the boss bar then claw, she bleads on him too, but that doesn't cause any damage. 2 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2 2d6-3) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 8 3. (He also knows kung fu.) * Thalan scowls and takes another shot at the boss. (Missed and made) * Justine, her muscles struggling a little to lift her gun higher, aims her blaster squarely at the bear's right eye the second she can see the white of it. She pulls the trigger. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6-3) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 7. (I hit!) (Let's see if he dodges. D:<) * Boss grabs a chair and starts wailing on Neisis with it in return. (And I forgot the gravity penalty, but that doesn't change the results) * Little guy with little ball is offscreen but making a racket in the back. (Dead Eye reduces the penalty for precise shots, right?) (Yup, by 3.) (Sorry I don't know where my book is.) (So it'd be a +1 for you.) 2d6+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Justine (2d6+1) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 10. (Exact make.) [Presently, bear, plasma gun goon and heavy equipment goon are on the bottom floor; flame thrower goon is on the platform.] * Bear roars runs up to attack Justine, assuming he manages to live that long. * Murynal leaves the bear to Justine and rushes the plasma gun guy. She tries to cut his gun in half before cutting him in half. 2 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2 2d6-3) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 3 4. (Make both.) * Plasma goon takes a shot at Thalan. Flame thrower goon, not wishing to burn her boss, goes after Mury. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6-4) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 1. [And resolutions!] 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 11. [Neisis's second shot is good. Give me the damage and give me a defense roll versus the chair.] 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 5. (20 damage) (Piercing or no?) (Very yes.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 3. (Made!) On my world, I am a librarian. On this world, a god! ::he misses:: Okay, a demi-god. (A librarian?) * Bear is dropped by Justine's shot, but the margin was close and they're at the same init, so he has a potential hit on her. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 11. [However, the bears aim is off so he claws the air before collapsing.] 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 7. [The boss also takes the shot from Thalan, gimme your damage Thalan.] (37) (Sadly, it turns out that a non-fried frontal lobe was a bear necessity.) * Boss grimaces in pain, although he shrugs off part of that. "To be clear though, on my world, we had very heavy books. Only the strong were librarians." 3 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (3 2d6) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 7 5 8. [Okay, the surviving goons all potentially hit.] * Mury needs to dodge a flame thrower shot and an engine tossed up in the air that's trying to land on her. * Thalan needs to dodge a plasma shot. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2d6-3) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 6. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2d6-2) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 5. (Avoided both.) * ChanServ sets mode: +nrt * ChanServ changes topic to '' * ChanServ sets mode: +o Grysar 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Justine (2d6-2) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 5. [Mury gracefully leaps out of the way leaving a crispy engine in her wake.] 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6-3) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 1. (Yeah, dodged.) [Thalan successfully jumps to another rafter.] 2 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2 2d6) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 11 9. [The plasma gun is sliced by Murynal, as is its weilder. Give me the damage to the guy. The gun is dead.] (23) [The bear collapses on Justine. She manages to pull back but not quite enough. He isn't right on top of her, but she'll need to use an attack action to get him off before she can move again.] [Plasma guy still stands but looks quite hurt.] [Neisis, Boss, Flamer-Former Plasma guy-Heavy equipment-Thalan-Justine, Mury.] [Round 3, go!] [Meanwhile, the little guy is still out of sight but the noise in the back is getting much louder.] * Neisis takes a photon claw swipe at the boss and then runs to the back room. "Something's happening back there." 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6-3) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 7. (on the dot) * Justine sets her pistol on her lap. She grimaces and tries to push the bear guy off her chair. She starts to sweat, and her teeth are gritted. Her arms waver. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Justine (2d6) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 11. (Ouch.) (Failed a body roll.) [The noise in the back sounds like a wrestling match held within a cubicle.] (Justine, you can try twice, one per attack) * Justine can't push the heavy corpse. She just sits there trying. Veins start to bulge on her weaker zero-gravity muscles. (I don't have extra attacks outside my ship.) * Boss and flamer both go after Neisis as she heads towards the back. (Oh, okay. Misunderstood something you said earlier) * Plasma guy heads towards the door. (I have a level of speed, if they don't kill me, I get there first! XD) * Heavy eqiupment mover tosses another engine at Mury, again trying to get it to land on top of her. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6-4) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 7. [Boss has a potential chair hit on Neisis] 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6-4) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 0. (For a moment of badassitude, can I forfeit an attack to perfect stroke that engine so each half lands on either side of me? Then attack him? ^^) [As does flame thrower woman.] Oh no you don't! (Mury: Yes!) * Thalan fires another plasma rifle shot at the boss. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6-3) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 5. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 5. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 6. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2d6-3) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 7. [Boss dodges Neisis's shot but is then hit by Thalan's. He's wounded worse, but still up.] (Made the stroke!) (I'll desc, okay.) (Go for it) (What's the boss trying to hit me with?) (Chair) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 6. 2d6+4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6+4) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 7. (Okay, that's all of my people, so go ahead and make your dodges and do descriptions. Then, assuming Neisis is still up, I'll describe the back) (Hit by both) * Murynal turns her attention to heavy equipment guy and blinks as another engine gets thrown at her. She watches it approach, then swings her doombud over her head, slicing the entire engine neatly down the middle. Each side slams down next to where she used to be, as now she's running straight for the goon and attempting a neat little decapitation. (I've basically done my desc. for this round.) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2d6-2) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 7. (And made, so 46 armor pen.) (Do they hit for more than fifty?) (Mury is the badass.) (Yeah, don't piss her off or you'll end up like greenie. :D) (Sure, unless we're in ships. Then Justine pwns your ass. :P ) [17 and 26 damage to Neisis. She is now on fire (as per burning)] (In ships, everyone pwns Neisis' ass.) ( FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRE!) * Female heavy equipment mover is so shocked by the splitting of the engine that her face continues to look surprised when her head is lopped off her shoulders and lands at Mury's feet. (I've got 5 HP left!) (*kicks the head* GOOOOOOOOOOAL! *dances*) (Wouldn't her head be split in two? The angle of the stroke suggests the sword would come downward to hit her.) (She said decapitation. That means head off, not head split I believe) (Yup.) [Neisis gets to the back! The back is oddly organized. In the front, there were duplicative piles of engines and the like, but in the back there's ten of everything in a row. Including a lot of vegetables oddly enough. There's a now very large ball, a meter in diameter, that seems to be made of the contents of the back office in highly condensed form. It's moving quite fast.] (... KATAMARI DO YOUR BEST!) [And give me an awareness roll Neisis. Sense of choice but tell me what sense.] (But... the angle of the stroke... Oh, never mind.) (Mury made two strokes. ^^;) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6-2) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 5. (Sight) (Made on all stats) [She see's there's still a tiny little guy pushing it. +6 penalty to hit the little guy. No penalty to hit the ball at this size.] [Neisis, Boss, Former Plasma Guy-Flamer-Thalan-Justine, Mury, Katamari] (I call dibs on killing the King of All Cosmos. I hated that guy.) [Round 4, go!] * Thalan shoots the boss again, assuming he's still in view. * Plasma guy runs out and sees that Justine, who is all by her lonesome, killed his friend the Bear. He runs up to punch her. She can shoot at him, but can't move until she deals with the bear. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6-3) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 5. (How heavy is the flamethrower?) * Boss is still in view and rips the door to the back off its hinges and tries to slam Neisis with it. (You need superstrength to wield or you get a +2 penalty. (Okay, so very heavy. TK can't move it.) * Flamer goes for Mury, she's scary. * Justine continues to strain to push the corpse off her chair. This might be attracting attention. Her breathing is getting heavier, becoming almost gasps or pants. She's sweating from the effort, and not just genteely from her forehead. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Justine (2d6) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 9. * Neisis takes a pair of swipes at the little guy as her potental last actions in the fight! * Justine continues to not be able to get the damn heavy lummox off her chair. 2 2d6+3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2 2d6+3) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 13 10. (... That would be a no) * Katamari just keeps rolling up stuff. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 3. * Plasma guy successfully kickes Justine unless she makes an unarmed defense roll. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 9. * Murynal glances around for something or someone to hit, frowns to see that the plasma guy didn't flee like he was supposed to, and runs over to turn slash him in the back. (-turn) 2 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2 2d6-3) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 1 5. (Slicity!) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Justine (2d6) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 6. * Boss similarly will be successful with the chair unless Neisis dodges. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 8. (I failed Unarmed Defense.) (Assume Justine was too engrossed in pushing the bear to notice she was being attacked.) * Flamer potentially burns Mury. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6-2) and gets 0, a CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! "I wish I got to hand out more of these, really." (Dude, can I get a backhand on the boss for that deff?) (Neisis is awesome.) (Neisis: Sure.) (Flamer is ranged?) (Give me damage from it.) (Mury: Yes) (He can take 20 more) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2d6-2) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 3. (Dodged.) (20 piercing, right?) * Mury moves faster than flames! (20 2x piercing damage) (Armor counts for NOTHING) (Does blobby guy have a mouth?) (Beam weapons are win) (Darn right. Beam melee weapons. :D) [Good news and bad news for Justine. Bad news: Justine is knocked up against a wall and takes a total of 17 damage. Good news: Justine is no longer under a bear.] [Backhand slices the bosses face up and he goes down!] 2 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2 2d6) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 5 11. (Oh, should I change targets then?) (Thalan: Sure) * Plasma guy after hitting Justine, spins to face Murynal. He dodges the first swing but is cut down by the second. Sorry about that. Are you okay? (Thalan: Female flamer is only standing enemy left in view. Katamari is in the back.) * Justine never even saw the attack coming, so intent was she upon pushing the bear. She gives an aborted cry as she's shoved, but bites it back. Freeing her was probably not a good plan. Her face is set determinedly. "Yes. Who's left?" (Neisis and Boss were both before Thalan, so makes sense that he gets a new target) (Aw, I was hoping for a revenge kill. :P ) (You can coup de grace him. :P) (Okay, gonna take out the female flamer then.) (Bah. That's no fun.) * Murynal looks in. "Someone with a flamethrower." * Thalan looks unamused as his target dies, and so fires at one of the flamethrower people instead! 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6-3) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 7. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 3. * Neisis ticks down to 1 HP. "Resta Please!" * Flamer dodges and runs towards the door. Here she comes. * Katamari keeps growing in height and is now 2 meters tall. A few chairs and then file cabinets did the trick. [Neisis, Thalan-Justine-Flamer, Mury, Katamari.] * Flamer is just running. She doesn't seem loyal to the boss now that he's down. * Thalan keeps trying to take out the flamer. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6-3) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 0. * Katamari keeps growing in back. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 6. * Neisis stops, drops, and rolls. Hopefully this means she's not about to burn to unconcious. * Murynal dodges in and to the side to give Justine a clear shot. She waits for the flame chick to approach before maiming her. (Body acrobatic (rolls) Neisis. Make it, you extinguish in one attack and have one left. Fail, it takes both) * Flamer is hit by the plasma shot. She's still up and drops the flame throw and keeps running. (I've only got one attack. I was using two weapon to get the second) 2d6+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2d6+1) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 5. (flame-throw to flame thrower) (Made anyway) (Oh, okay, then because you've got speed I'll say that was free) (May as well benefit from your abilities.) (That works, I use the action to aim at the little guy.) [Okay, Mury and Justine, take your shots at flamer if you so desire.] (Well, it changed when she dropped the weapon. :( ) (I was going to try to blow it up on her.) (Blow it up anyways.) (Blow it up as she drops it!) (She goes at your move, you can do that) (I'm pretty sure she's still in the blast radius.) * Justine picks her gun out of her lap. She's still breathing heavily and covered with sweat, but she can summon the strength to hold her weapon up and fire at the new foe, aiming for the gas tank on the woman's flame thrower just as she lets it go.] 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 9. 2d8+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Justine (2d8+1) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 7. (d6s Justine) (Yeah, made that by a few.) (Oh. Whoops.) (Oh, I'll count it then) 2d6+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Justine (2d6+1) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 11. (... Cripes. DR.) 2d6+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Justine (2d6+1) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 4. (There.) [Boom! She's on fire and quite dead. Crispy even.] (Sorry, all I've rolled for in the past year has been FB.) (No worries.) (Mury, take your turn) I'm going to check on Neisis. * Murynal runs in and up the stairs to do just that. [On hitting the stairs, she needs her gravity roll. Body +3 penalty. Super strength helps as does controlled breathing. * Thalan leaps down from the rafters now that all his targets are dead. "I'm gonna check out what's taking so long in back. Shout if you need help." * Thalan heads to the back room. [Thalan doesn't get far enough back until next turn, since he's attacked this turn.] "Be careful," Justine calls after Murynal. She goes back to keeping watch on the exit, gun now aimed at the door. 2d6+3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2d6+3) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 6. (... I made that. WTF.) [Mury is strong like heavy worlder, apparently. Now we know why all the boys want her, for her brawn, not her mind powers. :P] [You get back to the back room and still have time for one attack if you so desire.] (They want her because they all have a thing for Asian women with green hair from watching too much anime. :P ) * Murynal blinks at the ball, then shrugs mentally. It looks like a Bad Thing, and Bad Things need to be sliced into bitty pieces. So she does the slicing. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2d6-3) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 5. (Yeah, I hit that. 23 armor pen.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 10. [The Katamari loses a bit of mass and only grows to 2.5 meters this turn.] (Would you hit that?) [Everyone, Katamari.] * Thalan heads into the back room. * Neisis takes her aimed shots at the prince! 2 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neisis (2 2d6-1) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 5 6. (And that was the wrong number) (first one did hit on the dot) (Second missed) * Murynal keeps cutting up the katamari, trying to slice off significant parts. (Can I called shot to do that?) (15 damage, half penetrates) * Thalan will also take a shot on the katamari if he has enough time. (er wait, I've been forgetting to add my AVC 9_9) (Baka!) (Mury: No real anatomy) (22 damage, half penetrates) (Sure it does. It has file cabinets. :P) [The guy pushing it looks hurt. Thalan give me your +3 gravity roll.] 2 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2 2d6-3) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 5 1. (Made both, so 46 dam., armor pen.) 2d6+3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6+3) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 10. 3 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (3 2d6) and gets a natural 2 for a result of 9 4 2. (Hahaha, no.) [Irritated penalties for Thalan.] (Actually woulda made it if I rolled a 6. :() (Thalan: You still do get an attack though. Just at penalty) (So ... who's rolled up?) (Hey, can I burn EP to boost my body by 1 for the roll?) (I think you have to do that in advance.) (I thought that was retroactive.) (In Besm 3 it is) (2, I think it's afterwards) (2 I think it's before rather) (Oh, boo. :() (Oh well.) (Anyways, take your shot.) 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6-1) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 7. (Hit barely.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 4. [So the Katamari seems to take minimal penalties from multiple hits. It loses a bit of mass from Neisis's attack and then does a mega zoom to avoid the Thalan and Mury hits (it rolled a 2, a 4, and a 4)] * Katamari tries to roll up Mury, since she's been hurting it the most. (Can I see that from across the street?) (... I hit the prince?) (Oh... right) (Okay, it keeps growing in size but the prince is hurt) (Justine: Yes, but you can't shoot at the prince) 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6-3) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 5. (Is it a new round? Should I take an action?) (Justine, yup, go ahead and act) * Justine sees through the door a rapidly increasing ball of stuff. She decides that this is probably bad, and tries to shoot at it, while avoiding any friends of hers that are stuck to its surface. 2d8+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Justine (2d8+1) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 6. (Yeah, made by a ton.) [So the three meter Katamari tries to roll up Mury. There's a +3 penalty to her defense roll based on size and attack penalty.] * Neisis spends the round aiming at the prince again. (Oh snap.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2d6) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 6. (Made BARELY.) (Aww. ;_;) [New Round!] (did I hit it or what?) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2d6) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 7. [Justine actually gets the first hit on the ball this round, so it stays a little below three meters after all. [Everyone, Katamari] * Thalan keeps shooting at the Katamari! 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Thalan (2d6-1) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 8. * Murynal gets out of the way so she's in back. She tries to spot whatever it is that Neisis is aiming and and then tries to hit it herself. (And I miss. D:<) (s/and/at) (Uh... do I go again?) (Justine: Yes) 2 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Murynal (2 2d6) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 7 7. (Hit twice!) 2 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Grysar (2 2d6) and gets a natural 2 for a result of 6 2. * Justine sticks with what works. She points and shoots again. 2d6+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Justine (2d6+1) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 4. (Yeah, made by a mile.) (I think I got confused on rounds but it doesn't matter aiming now) [Mury's first attack hits and cuts down the Prince! Her second attack misses as his body dissolves into a beautiful rainbow.] [The Katamari now just sits there.] * Murynal lets out a long breath, then looks at the katamari. "What are we supposed to do now?" * Neisis straightens up. "Anybody know what to do with this? And can I get some healing please?" [And out of init.] Oh. Yes. * Neisis is a burnt, battered, and bloody mess. I suggest we blow it up. * Murynal turns off the sword and hooks it back to her belt. She then places a hand on Neisis and makes with the healing. (How hurt is she?) (I'm at 1 hp hurt) (Out of 55) [People outside not the victory music and look in. Some turn to Justine, "Are they gone?" (Right, so it'll take, uh... 27 minutes to completely heal you. ;P) (/me grins. "Think I got the difficulty about right on that.") "I think so," she replies. (And man, the Prince/Katamari has two crit success defenses. That was crazy) (yes.) "Are you guys okay?" Justine shouts. * Neisis finds something not stuck to the Katamari to sit on while she waits. "I think we call the Mayor and ask if he knows what to do with this." As okay as we can be. * Thalan walks out of the back room and sees about contacting the Mayor. ["The heavy worlders are done!" "We're free again!" "Roast the fatted cow-bear!" "A person's native gravity does not determine their worth!" [Thalan raises the mayor easily enough: "Good news?" (Are people still stuck to it?) (Nobody got stuck) "Yeah, thugs are dead. We just got a little problem with a ball that seems to stick to anything it touches." (;_;) (I thought Thalan got stuck.) (He failed his gravity roll) (Oh.) A ball that... They had a Katamari! My Gods! I thought those were all gone when that oddly color lunatic monarchy was wiped out. How much of that quarter did it destroy?" "I think you might need a haz-mat team or something to handle it. I don't wanna touch it. We kept it in the room. So, uh... maybe about *checks* it's only a few meters in diameter. Thank goodness. We'll send one over. It will probably expire in between three and twenty minutes, but can't be too safe. Oh, it expires. Okay, no big deal then. Your team has my thanks. You will always be welcome in my city. You can use my personal landing pad when you arrive. Good, good. Can he help us get a permit? [Anyways, after about three minutes of healing, all the material falls off and a giant rainbow beams throw the roof to collect the little ball. Assuming no one tries to snag it for themselves.] * Murynal doesn't, thanks. (I think THalan's outside and we're still inside and I'm NOT TOUCHING THAT) (Oh, nix what I said, then. :)) You ask'em. (Uh, Thalan, who are you talking to?) * Justine is outside. She does see the rainbow, though. * Murynal watches it fly away. "Wow." (Sorry, should have clarified a bit. "You can use my personal landing pad when you arrive with the permits.) ... That was colorful. (And, that's it for our planned content. Final session in two weeks. You guys are welcome to do any minis or such between now and then. After the final session the game is yours, feel free to change GMs or the like.) (You think you're free! You'll never be free!) (Heh.) (If you want to keep talking for a bit, that's fine. But unless you need me for anything, I'm going to go do some Rock Band.) (Hope that was fun. ^_^) * Murynal heads on out to meet up with Justine and Thalan. Maybe with Neisis! (Took a bit to get back IC. ^^) * Neisis goes when the healings done. [Justine waves when Murynal comes out. "What was that in there?"] (Yup. Well, that's what five hour sessions are for.) A giant ball that rolled up everything it touched. (Yeah. Honestly, fun was hampered by my not feeling like I had a grip on my PC.) The rainbow took it away. It was very strange and colorful. End of #jumpers buffer Sat Jan 19 22:04:07 2008 Start of #jumpers buffer: Sat Jan 19 22:38:16 2008 * Now talking in #jumpers -herring.sandwich.net:@#jumpers- Grysar invited Dicesuke into channel #jumpers * Dicesuke has joined #jumpers * WeightofTaki has joined #jumpers * WeightofTaki reads the last log. "We are very silly people." * Justine blinks at what Denal says, nods, and selects "raccoon". Heh/ If you reload the log, it'll have proper line breaks now. (Right, this place is populated by stupid people. Let's kill all of them and find somewhere else to live, it might be catching.) Heh * Nicolas has joined #jumpers * Nicolas is now known as Justine 'ey Nic. Howdy. * WeightofTaki snerks. "You know? I think Neisis is going to end this game never having spent 4 of her CP." I read every Jumpers log over the past 24 hours. I do not recommend this approach. I just read the last one. It's just been so long that I didn't really remember much of anything that had happened. Do you realize the entire campaign has taken about three days of IC time? And Justine wasn't even there on the first day. The entire Danger- tainment arc that ran from 3 to 10 was all yesterday, I think. Not counting random travel time and the day we spent waiting for the ship to get fixed. The travel time seems pretty low, and I included that day waiting. Huh, I'd thought there was more travel time. Travel time always seems to be about a couple of hours. Oh, could you email the current version of your sheets. gregory.sanders@gmail.com It isn't critical but might help. Sure. I don't think mine's changed. You did get a CP last session. Sent. Did it arrive okay? Yeah, but we've only had a couple of years to decide what to spend it on. Jeez, don't rush us. I didn't spend it either, that I can recall. Okay, I'm going to go AFK to go to the post office. I should be back by gametime. Okay, idling for a bit to drink hot chocolate. I'll check in up to game time. * Grysar nods. Sjeet os a;; gppd/ Sheet is all good. * Justine has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) * Roseli has joined #jumpers 'ey, remember you have a CP from last session. When you get the chance send me your current sheet at gregory.sanders@gmail.com Did I? Everyone does. * Roseli is rereading session logs, since she spent earlier reading for class. ^^; I seem to have spent it already. :) Coo' Well send in that then. ^_^ How much did we earn over the game? CP, I mean. I have no idea. I just know you got one last session. :P Uh, yeah. Right. It says I have three, so... I guess I have three. :P Should be the same for everyone. Gryph? I haven't been keeping track ^^; Well Nic should be back shortly. I just know that Neisis started with a giant pile up unspent points and she still has one. That's Gryph for you. Sent. * Syzix has joined #Jumpers * Grysar grins. "And Zeg makes three. Nic was in earlier so I'm not too worried about him." "I love that "ethnic" is a cooking specialty." Howdy. Sorry, the computer at the post office was down, so things took longer than expected. Okay, everyone IC. (Murynal doesn't introduce herself.) (I'm not as scary.) [Shorty and boss confer.] (But you can mess with his mind?) * Neisis smiles at Bear as she waits
